Run for your lives, it's the Borg! In this case, the titular "Star Trek" villains the "Borg" have been downgraded from an intergalactic genocidal species to that of a hot-and-cold refrigeration unit.

Yes, you read correctly, now you can own your very own Borg of sorts. The "Borg Cube Mini-Fridge" was unveiled this week by the geek oriented company ThinkGeek. This might perhaps be the first ever Borg cube hot-and-cold refrigeration unit.

ThinkGeek is a company that prides itself on making electronic items for the geek. The new Borg Cube Mini-Fridge has taken its online electronic shopping enterprise perhaps to a new level. The officially licensed "Star Trek" product can keep drinks cool, and it can keep cups of tea or your pizza slices warm, Trek Today reported.

The Borg Cube Mini-Fridge really looks like a Borg Cube and it glows green behind that Borg outer coating. The light inside also glows green. The fridge is 11.5″ cubed, with outer dimensions, and its inner dimensions are 6 x 7.5 x 8.25 inches, Trek Today reported.

The Borg Mini-Fridge can do more. With its cold settings, it can keep up to nine cans of soda or whatever canned beverage at low temperatures. And it can also keep items warm like black coffee, or Earl Grey, or perhaps even some sandwiches, CNET reported. The Borg plugs into a standard outlet, and it can also be powered by a 12-volt DC power source. In other words, it is mobile enough that you can take it along in your car.

The Borg Cube Mini-Fridge could be great for the office, home, or even the college dorm. The Borg selling price is $149.99 and it should be available by September of this year. (You can click here to get yourself one.)

In case you did not know what or who the Borg were, they were first introduced in the "Star Trek" spin-off series "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and then again in "Star Trek: Voyager." The Borg are a collection of species from Klingons, Romulans, etc. that have been turned into "cybernetic organisms" that function as drones of the Collective, or a hive.

The Borg only dwelled within the "Star Trek" universe. They enslave and force other species into their cybernetic army, and its victims are usually connected into the "hive mind." When one becomes part of the hive mind it is called assimilation, but it entails violence, abductions, and injections of microscopic nano-probes.

The Borg have also appeared in the "Star Trek" film "Star Trek: First Contact."

Resistance in purchasing the Borg Cube Mini-Fridge might be futile.
