Lucero will soon be known as a Telemundo star, and to kick things off, she will be performing at Premios Tu Mundo.

The event will take place on Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.

Premios Tu Mundo is dedicated to telenovelas, shows, sports and music, so it's a perfect fit for the host of Telemundo's upcoming singing competition, "Yo Soy El Artista."

Other than Lucero, Gerardo Ortiz, Natalia Jimenez and Los Tucanes de Tijuana are also set to perform, notes the Huffington Post.

This year's show will be hosted by Gaby Espino and Aaron Diaz. Blanca Soto, Ana Maria Polo, Aylin Mujica, Blanca Soto and Carmen Villalobos are just a few of the celebrities that will be presenting awards.

This is the third time the event has taken place, and there are eight awards dedicated to music. Other categories are best lead actress or even best bad luck moment.

Lucero recently announced she was switching to Telemundo after having worked for Televisa for 33 years. But she was attracted by the upcoming show.

"I am extremely happy to be the host of 'Yo Soy el Artista,'" said Lucero. "It is a powerful reality concept with all the necessary ingredients to discover great new talent and develop them. I love that aspect of the show. These types of programs are attractive for the audience and very important for so many artists who are waiting for a great opportunity. I also am thrilled to work with such a great team of professionals who are fully committed to such an important project."

The show will also have the singer playing an important role that might affect who gets to stay and who has to go. Auditions for the show were held in Puerto Rico and in several American cities.
