Rumors of a Sept. 10 Apple event have been circulating for weeks. As of yesterday, the press conference, which will most likely feature the debuts of iOS 7, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, has been confirmed.

Yesterday, Apple sent invitations to members of the press to cover its Sept. 10 event. The invitations hinted at the arrival of the latest iPhone.

"This should brighten everyone's day."

That is what the invitation to Apple's event reads, and surely Apple gadget owners are excited to learn that at least some exciting news or product will be announced next week. What that will be, however, is still to be determined.

Apple's invitations feature the white Apple logo. Behind it lies a collage of brightly-colored, overlapping circles. Some believe this colorful invite might be a hint at the new lower priced iPhone that is rumored to be available in different colors.

Others believe the colorful invitations represent something else. Some believe the invitation is alluding to the iPhone 5S which includes a new A7 chip, and the iPhone 5C, which has its contents in a bright, colorful plastic shell. On the other hand, the invitations could be representative of iOS 7, which Apple has been using colors to promote for a while.

Still, Apple's Sept. 10 event could end up being none of the above. Products like iPads, an iWatch smartwatch, Retina MacBook Pros and the OS X 10.9 are notable considerations for the spotlight. It would, however, be very surprising if Apple did not at least give more of a preview of the iOS 7, iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C, which Apple fanatics have been blogging and speculating about for ages.

The long-awaited Apple Sept. 10 conference begins at 10 a.m. Pacific time at Apple's Cupertino corporate campus.

iOS 7 is slated to have numerous updates including some more minor ones such as limited ad tracking, the ability to block numbers from calling, texting and Facetime, auto close captioning and subtitles, an app store that categorizes popular apps by location and preset maps for walking and driving directions.

iOS7 is expected to be easier, faster and more enjoyable for users. Apps will look different, but Apple claims they will have the same familiar feel users are used to. As a result re-learning should not be necessary in order to operate iOS 7.
