Kanye West is allegedly planning to build a cathedral in honor of Kim Kardashian and his family, reports RadarOnline.

West's cathedral plans were first reported by a source from the National Enquirer who claims that the Kim Kardashian inspired cathedral will be a place where "weddings, baptisms and family funerals can take place for years to come."

The source said, "But Kanye being Kanye, it's going to be ludicrously over the top!"

The rumored cathedral will be modeled after Barcelona's unfinished Roman Catholic Church, La Sagrada Familia, which began construction in 1882, reports The Daily Mail.

"Kanye has visited the church several times, and it takes his breath away every time," the NE source revealed. "He's always wanted something similar for his own family. Kanye sees it as a monument to him and Kim that will become a major landmark. He says everyone will want to see it, like the Hollywood sign or the Empire State Building."

So far, West has been in search of the perfect plot of land to build the cathedral on. The Chicago rapper has set aside $5 million to put toward his dream family-inspired cathedral and plans to start an online fund for fans to donate to the cathedral's construction. [The National Enquirer]

In addition to having the cathedral pay homage to his wife and daughter, West will also use his religious sanctuary to pay tribute to his late mother Dondra who died from complications during cosmetic surgery.

"He wants this church to include a chapel as a tribute to his mom, along with a stained glass window featuring him, Kim and their daughter, North," the National Enquirer source said.

West's grand gesture for Kim and the rest of his family comes as no shock, being that Kanye has already gone over the top when it comes to his relationship with Kim Kardashian.

The Daily Mail reports West proposed to Kardashian at a baseball stadium in front of a 50-person orchestra and later insisted that they exchange their vows in front of a wall of flowers in Florence.
