NBA star Lamar Odom has checked into a drug and alcohol rehab center, according to People.com.

Odom finally enters rehab following weeks of speculation about drug use as well as an arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

ESPN had reported prior to the arrest that Odom was holed up in a Los Angeles hotel room where his friends were trying to help him from falling into a complete drug binge. TMZ had reported that Odom was missing for 72 hours after a fight with his wife, Khloe Kardashian, who apparently tried but failed in an attempt to stage an intervention for him.

Odom was arrested at 3:54 a.m. last Friday when a police report said he was driving in a "serpentine manner." He showed "objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated."

He was held on $15,000 bail and released some hours later.

TMZ reported that Odom has been using crack cocaine and "hardcore recreational drugs" for the last two years and only took a break during the NBA season. It was also reported that Odom was in rehab last year.

Kardashian has been posting to Twitter and Instagram off and on in recent weeks as media outlets have reported that the couple's marriage is on the rocks. Following Odom's arrest, she tweeted, "As much as I wish I were made of steel... I'm not."

The Lakers and Clippers were reportedly pursuing Odom in free-agency this off-season, but his status for the upcoming season is clearly taking a backseat to his health as he enters rehab.
