With the impending launch of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C during Apple's September 10 media event, rumors about the iPhone 6 is also gaining traction.

It was reported that Apple may be venturing into phablets with the upcoming iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 will most likely sport a 5 to 6-inch screen.

Reports are saying that Apple is testing out screens of various sizes. Sizes range from 4.8 inches to 6 inches. The Inquisitr hints on a regular iPhone 6 with a screen measuring 4 to 5 inches and a larger iPhone 6 topping the spectrum with a 6-inch screen.

This move to upgrade the iPhone's screen size is allegedly the company's attempt to penetrate the phablet industry - currently dominated by rival, Samsung Electronics.

NAK Design, a French company, has rendered their own version of the iPhone 6 in black. The regular iPhone 6 will reportedly be 4.9 inches with the home button positioned on the side. View the photos HERE.

Other rumored features and specifications for the iPhone 6 include a unified OS. The Inquisitr says that the Apple iPhone iOS is most likely to be unified with the Mac OS X within 2014 to 2016. This could mean that the iPhone 6 might just be the company's first handset to gain access to Mac OS applications.

PC Pro, on the other hand, is suggesting an iOS 7 operating system for the iPhone 6. The phone will also have other features such as a fingerprint reader and sensor and a major camera upgrade which will be in the form of a 13-mega pixel camera allowing for advanced color correction and white-balance tools.

According to KnowYourMobile, the iPhone 6 will most likely be priced higher than the current iPhone model. After all, a bigger screen size and highly upgraded specs and features would call for a price-up. It is then expected that the iPhone 6 will cost more than the regular iPhone.

Although rumors have started shooting off from all directions, Apple is yet to provide updates on the iPhone 6. Rumor mills and fans might even be in for a treat if the alleged iPhone 5S shows up as the iPhone 6 at Apple's media event!

Apple is holding a special media event September 10, 2013 at their headquarters in Cupertino, California. Rumors are saying that the event will launch the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C simultaneously.
