Prior to Tuesday's media event, Apple was rumored to be preparing a bigger-than-ever iPhone and on Tuesday it revealed two of them.

You heard right, both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be bigger than any phone the company has released in its history, according to a report from Yahoo Tech. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display, while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen.

For comparison, the previous iPhone, the 5S, had a 4-inch display.

Pricing for the iPhone 6 starts at $199 for the 16GB version, jumping to $299 for the 64GB version and $399 for the 128GB version. The iPhone 6 Plus starts at $299 for the 16GB version, rising to $399 for the 32GB version and $499 for the 128GB version, Wired reported. Those prices require a two-year contract with a wireless provider.

Both the 6 and 6 Plus will go on sale to the public on Sept. 19, and are available for preorder on Sept. 12.

Following the release of the iPhone 6, the 5S and 5c models will be reduced to $99 and free, respectively. Those prices also require a two-year contract.

The new iPhones sport a different look than their predecessors, with curved corners and a brushed aluminum back. Some reviews claim they look and feel more like a miniature iPad than previous iterations of the iPhone.

The iPhone 6 has a 1334x750 display, creating over 1 million pixels. The iPhone 6 Plus exceeds that, with a 1920x1080 display, creating 2 million pixels. They both have Apple's newest generation of Retina display, called Retina HD.

Apple also announced Tuesday that both new version of the iPhone will have equal or better battery life than the last generation.

While Apple enjoys strong domestic market share, it's sales overseas haven't been as good. Foreign smartphone users prefer bigger screens, a big reason Apple put an emphasis on a bigger iPhone 6.
