Hip hop mogul Suge Knight was arrested yesterday in Los Angeles for an outstanding warrant.

According to the Associated Press, Marion "Suge" Knight was pulled over Wednesday for a traffic violation. Sara Faden, a police officer, said Knight was stopped near Beverley Hills a little bit after midnight. Faden refused to describe the alleged traffic violation.

TMZ is reporting that Knight was "straddling" two lanes at around 12:30 a.m. The web site claims Knight, 48, was in a truck without license plates. When the police pulled him over, he was sober.

It was determined that there was a warrant out for Knight's arrest regarding a misdemeanor. Police took Knight into county jail. He was released after posting $20,000 bail several hours later at 7:20 a.m. this morning, TMZ reports.

Knight's warrant was issued in February after the founder of Death Row Records founder missed a court appearance. He was scheduled in court for driving without a license.

According to CNN, this is not Knight's first encounter with the law.

In Dec. 1010, Knight was arrested outside a shopping mall in a Los Angeles suburban neighborhood with a warrant. Again, the warrant was for failing to appear in court for a hearing regarding a traffic violation.

In Feb. 2012, Las Vegas police pulled over Knight. The officers found less than one ounce of weed in Knight's black Bentley. Knight was ticketed for changing lanes unsafely.

Knight gained fame for propelling the career of many rap legends such as the late Tupac Shakur, Snoop Lion, who at the time was known as Snoop Doggy Dog, and Dr. Dre. He became co-founder of Death Row Records, along with Dr. Dre, in 1991. Knight was with Shakur when he was murdered in 1996.

After the death of Shakur, Knight went to prison for several years for committing assault while on parole and for weapons charges. Dr. Dre, Snoop Lion and other rappers eventually left the label, and Knight developed feuds with many different rappers. The death of Shakur, Knight's time in prison and his poor relationships with rappers eventually led to his and Death Row Records' bankruptcy in 2006.

Knight is now the CEO and founder of Black Kapital Records.
