A man who allegedly has ties to Aaron Hernandez was ordered by a judge to testify in court.

John Alcorn, who lives in Bristol, Conn., is related to a cousin of disgraced former NFL star Aaron Hernandez. Alcorn's lawyer, Matthew Dyer, refused to comment when he first entered the courtroom but eventually said a few things to reporters.

"I can say my client has no connection to any weapons," Dyer said. "He's cooperating in the spirit of the law, everything he needs to do he's doing, so I can't tell you any more about what he's doing or what's he's seeing, what he's done, or what he's going to do but we're cooperating."

Hernandez is charged with murdering his friend, Odin Lloyd, who was found dead in an industrial park earlier this summer. Herandez is also a suspect in a double murder that took place last year. His lawyers have remained firm in their belief that their client is innocent and should be cleared of charges.

The NFL Players Union has pushed the NFL to pay Hernandez $82,000, as per his contract, from his participation in minicamps.

Former players have weighed in on the Hernandez case and how the Patriots kept him for as long as they did without knowing anything.

"New England had to know something, just like 31 other teams had to know something about Aaron Hernandez's background, and that's your red flag. Now, it's up to you to say, 'You know what, I'm still going to try that,'" said Ray Lewis, who has had his own run-ins with the law.

Hernandez remains in jail and is hoping to get out on bail soon, although he has already been refused the opportunity.
