The seventh season of "The Voice" premieres on Monday, Sept. 22, and the show's coaches already have plenty to say.

This season of "The Voice" welcomes two newcomers -- Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams -- to the coaching panel, and veterans, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, return this season to coach a new team of contestants.

"When you watch the first couple of hours, you see how fantastically Pharrell and Gwen seamlessly fit in. Also, they are absolutely not sitting back quietly, not for a second. They're very confident and very experienced," Mark Burnett, "The Voice" executive producer, told USA Today.

Since joining the show's coaching panel, Stefani revealed that her new on-air gig has helped inspire her next album.

"I got pregnant, I had a baby, I was at home with my parents ... and a call came in. (They said), 'Christina's pregnant, do you want to do the show?' I hung up and thought, 'My life is weird,'" Stefani told USA Today. "It seemed like the perfect time. I didn't realize how much impact it would have on me as an artist. I needed something to inspire me as I looked to see what would be my next album."

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Stefani also opened up about her decision to have her husband Gavin Rossdale come on board the show to advise her group of contestants.

"I went back and forth about having Gavin on because we have only collaborated on babies before," she told TV Guide. "We got in a little fight about it the night before because I was like, 'I don't know if I can handle this. It's just too much.' Then I slept on it, and in the morning I said, 'You know what, let's do this. It's going to spice things up.' And it was awesome."

Unlike Stefani, newcomer Pharrell Williams explained that he experienced no challenges when deciding to become a "Voice" coach.

"It's what I do every day in the studio (with professional singers). It's to coach, groom and guide them," Williams told USA Today. "It allows me to have a platform to speak to 14 million people every night, in terms of some of the suggestions and advice I'm giving to artists. They might be some of the questions people have at home."

Blake Shelton -- a three-time coach winner on "The Voice" -- expressed his excitement to Rolling Stone on his decision to return to the show's upcoming season.

"I love it so much, and I made some of the most important relationships in my life by being a part of that show, with some of the coaches, some of the people who just came to perform, but mostly those who have been on my teams over the year. ... They're my family now," Shelton said.

"The Voice" airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
