On Monday, Blake Lively announced on her Preserve blog that she is expecting her first child with husband, Ryan Reynolds, Vogue reports.

In the blog post titled, "Preserve Celebrations: Falling for Family," Lively writes about "that special moment at the creation of family," before congratulating "all the expecting mothers out there."

The former "Gossip Girl" actress then concludes her post by sharing a photo -- taken by her brother, Eric Lively -- of herself holding her baby bump, E! News reports.

The intimate photo features a newly pregnant Lively sporting a Sam and Lavi "Lyna" top and "Sevi" skirt, says E! News.

According to Us Weekly, Lively and Reynolds -- who first met in 2010 and married a year later -- have been very vocal about wanting to have kids.

Prior to Lively's pregnancy announcement, her husband Ryan Reynolds expressed his desire to have a big family in the August 2013 issue of Details.

In the issue, Reynolds explains that because he and Lively both come from big families, they wish to continue on with the tradition.

"We both come from big families -- my parents did four, Blake's did five. A lot of people say it's crazy, but we'll only know when we're there, you know? We'll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think."

Lively also gushed about Reynolds one day becoming a father to their children in the August 2014 issue of Vogue, according to Us Weekly.

Lively explains in the issue that Reynolds' life experience will make him a great father.

"He's going to be a great father and leader and patriarch -- he's so meant to be all of those things," she said of her hubby. "The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he's the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he's become, and we get to grow from there."
