We know all about the early surprises this NFL season -- the Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated and so are the New Orleans Saints, who already have a two-game lead in the NFC North. But what about the most disappointing teams so far?

The Washington Redskins -- fresh off a playoff appearance and an NFC East division title -- are sinking fast under star quarterback Robert Griffin III's slow start. The second year quarterback has struggled this season and critics have started to wonder whether it has anything to do with his surgically repaired knee. Washington will travel to Oakland to face the Raiders next Sunday, which could be the Redskins' best chance at a win anytime soon.

The Redskins' NFC East rival New York Giants have been even more dismal thus far. Most recently Big Blue endured a 38-0 blowout in Carolina to the previously winless Panthers. The Giants hope to score their first victory of the season next weekend when they travel to Kansas City to take on Andy Reid's 3-0 Chiefs.

Another slow starter this season involves another one of the league's most storied franchise in the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers' 0-3 start to the season was, to some degree, foreshadowed as the team's aging defense took the field in Week 1. The Steelers have struggled across the board and had six turnovers against the Chicago Bears in the Week 3 game in Pittsburgh.

As the NFL season rolls on, each of these three teams have the potential to turn things around and make a playoff push, especially as players start to settle into their roles. If not, however, it could be a long 17 weeks for these struggling teams.
