With a few weeks to go until its release, Lionsgate has dropped yet another teaser of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1."

The new trailer shows Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, returning to her home District 12. However, what she sees is a devastated and destroyed world that allows Katniss to see what she's lost and what she's fighting for.

While it is only 60 seconds, the clip is extremely powerful and sets up audiences for a very dark film. The trailer is accompanied by Lorde's song "Yellow Flicker Beat" and that provides an extremely haunting score.

The New Zealand-born singer has been contributing to the score of the Hunger Games franchise since "Catching Fire." She wrote the song "Everyone wants to rule the world" for the second installment. For "Mockingjay," she was tapped to curate the complete soundtrack of the film, so based on this new selection in the trailer, it can be stated that this will be an extremely dark film.

Also interesting in this trailer is that Lionsgate omitted any form of action that was represented in the previous trailers. This is interesting as sometimes audiences are interested in seeing action rather than plot details. However, in this trailer Lionsgate wants to leave audiences with a cliffhanger and keep them on their seats so they will see the film.

The other unique characteristic of the trailer is that it is narrated by District 13 leader Plutarch Heavensbee who was played by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. In the trailer Plutarch states, "No one else can do this but her. We need to make it personal for her."

Other interesting things that the trailer shows are a picture of Katniss' father, a rose that she pulls out and a jacket that she used to wear when she lived in District 12.

The new film picks up after "Catching Fire," where Katniss believed Peeta, her friend, to be dead. However, in this new film Katniss Everdeen find herself in District 13 after she shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage.

The film is based on the Suzanne Collins novel of the same name and it is slated to also star Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland and Toby Jones.

"The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1" is slated for release on Nov. 21. The film follows in the footsteps of "Catching Fire" which was released to box office records and made $424 million and over $800 million internationally. Meanwhile, the original installment "The Hunger Games" made $408 million.

Prognosticators believe that "Mockingjay" is unlikely to make as much as these two previous installments but, with Lionsgate's strong marketing push and new trailers being released every week, it is likely this film will exceed its predecessors. Whatever the case may be, "Mockingjay Part 1" will most likely become the highest grossing film of the year.
