In an upcoming interview with Maria Shriver on the "Today" show, Jennifer Lopez opened up about her feelings on finding love and her famous relationships with Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony.

The "Booty" singer explained that when she and Affleck broke off their engagement in 2004, she experienced her "first big heartbreak."

Following her split from Affleck, Lopez quickly began another relationship with who she described as her "best friend," Marc Anthony, and married him that same year.

"To have one of my best friends who I'd known for years, who I actually love and did have chemistry with, come into my life and say, 'I'm here.' ... What you need to know is nobody can save you or heal you," she said of her marriage to Anthony. "Only you can do that for you."

Lopez also confessed that her tendency to quickly fall in love stemmed from her notion that she "wasn't worthy of love" growing up as a middle child.

"Being a middle child and kind of being invisible sometimes, or you know, trying to get the attention. So what did I do? I overachieved. I was the one who ran track and I won medals every weekend. Or I was the one who would go on the show and steal the show. And that would give me confidence. But there was a part of me that just wanted love," she said.

Since her breakup from dancer Casper Smart earlier this year, Lopez is now looking for love within herself, Us Weekly reports.

The mother of two revealed to Shriver that her current focus is "to be on my own for a minute and learn more about myself."

Neither Affleck nor Anthony have responded to Lopez's statements regarding her relationships with them.

However, one of Lopez's exes, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs gushed about the singer and her assets last month to Access Hollywood, noting that he is "so lucky to have that great woman in my history."

Lopez's interview with Maria Shriver on the "Today" show will air on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4.
