Miranda Lambert has now solidified herself as country music icon.

After she received nine CMA Award nominations this year-a record she set back on Sept. 1, 2010-the Longview, Texas bred singer is the most decorated female artist in the history of the Country Music Association Awards, after winning her fifth consecutive award for Female Vocalist of the Year. Her triumph Wednesday night beat a record set by herself, Martina McBride and Reba McEntire, all of which won the trophy four times respectively.

Rolling Stone reports that Lambert, while McBride's successes were non-consecutive, scoring wins in 1999 and again between 2002 and 2004, McEntire earned the latter award per annum from 1984 to 1987.

Lambert took home Album Of The Year for her fifth studio album "Platinum," Single Of The Year for "Automatic" and Vocal Event Of The Year for her duet with Keith Urban, "We Were Us" a track which was featured on his eighth solo effort "Fuse," according to a CBS affiliate,

"I can't believe that this is my job," Lambert gushed, tears swelling up. "Damn it, I cry every time. Thank you so much for letting me live my dream and believing in my art. To all the other amazing female artists out there...I'm trying to represent for you girls. Thank you so much, I love you."

AP reports that alright Lambert, 30, won a total of 11 CMA trophies throughout her career, putting her ahead of any other female act, she's still got a long way to go toe to toe with boys: Lambert lost Entertainer of the Year, the night's top award, to friend Luke Bryan, 38, who picked up his first CMA trophy and beat out Urban, George Strait, and Lambert's husband Blake Shelton for his top-selling party-boy call-of-arms, "Crash My Party."

"I have longed and sought after to get one of these in my hands. ... To get the respect of the CMA board ... is a ginormous deal," Bryan jubilantly stated to the Associated Press backstage. "I am really humbled. I think about the hard work it took to get here. I am so blessed this is from the CMAs and I will never take it for granted."

Shelton, like his wife, also made CMA history when "The Voice" judge tied with Strait and Vince Gill for five wins for Male Vocalist Of The Year, Yahoo! News reports

"For me and my family, this may be the biggest night of our lives as far as music goes," Shelton said backstage.

"I told my wife when we were walking off the stage, I go, 'Miranda, I'm sorry, you only won four CMAs tonight. I mean, I'm really sorry," he said as reporters laughed.

Speaking of Vince Gill, who won the Irving Waugh Award of Excellence, Lambert is also tied with him for consecutive wins, which he earned from 1991 to 1995.

"It's really unbelievable," Lambert said backstage to the Associated Press. "I felt like this whole night was about really celebrating music."
