Summer hit "Type Of Way" was a definite catalyst for Rich Homie Quan's instant rise to fame. Not too long ago, the rapper also dropped a remix of his huge single, featuring Meek Mill and Jeezy, which got him more attention and even a shout-out from a fellow rapper, Drake.

On the recent 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards green carpet, Rich Homie spoke with HipHopSince1987 about the remix of his street banger and how it was put together.

"It really came about like Meek had Big Sean's support," Atlanta, Georgia native rapper said when he was asked about the song. "I wanted Meek to get on it, Meek's not a new artist but he has that young energy so I had to put him on and he showed me a lot of support."

There has been speculation on whether Quan signed with Def Jam Records. According to the information of his single on iTunes, "Type Of Way" is being sold under Def Jam Records. Also, the record label tweeted in support of downloading the hit song.

Whether or not the rapper has a major label deal, he's still looking to capitalize of his new fame with the release of a debut album, as well as a new mixtape. Rich Homie Quan reveals his plans for both projects this year.

"I will drop a new mixtape for the streets before the year is out. I'm about 30 percent in with the album and I've still got another mixtape coming for the streets."
