Is Taylor Swift starring in a movie alongside rumored new love interest Brenton Thwaites?

Taylor Swift's love life is always a hot topic, but a more recent update about her rumored fling with the Australian actor seems to give more cred to reports that they have been hanging out.

According to Billboard, Swiftie is the latest addition to the star studded cast of the film adaptation of Lois Lowry novel, The Giver, opposite Thwaites.

Huffington Post notes that the film, which will be bannered by The Weinstein Company and Walden Media, will tell the story of a young boy named Jonas (played by Thwaites) who lives in a utopian society, and is selected to be a Receiver of Memories. He then works with The Giver (played by Jeff Bridges), who teaches him how to use his special gifts.

As for Swift, Sugarscape says she will be portraying the role Chief Elder. Other cast members include Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes (who will play as Thwaites' mother), Alexander Skarsgard, Cameron Monaghan and Odeya Rush.

We recently reported that Taylor and Brenton seemed to have a brewing attraction for each other. The two were reportedly all clingy at the after party of the Toronto Film Festival premier of One Chance. Sources said the two were all about each other that night.

"Brenton and Taylor took over a booth together and kept getting closer and closer until their thighs were touching," a source for Hollywood Life noted.

While there is still no confirmation as to whether the two are really dating, working with each other may prove to work for Taylor and Brenton. Especially since Taylor hasn't really been in a relationship since she broke up with One Direction's Harry Styles.

The Giver will start filming on Oct. 7 in South Africa, with a release date of August 2014.
