The 2014 American Music Awards take place on Sunday night.

Latin superstar Pitbull will be hosting the 42nd annual event. It starts at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The award show will recognize artists across many different genres of music, such as R&B, country and rock.

The award show can also be watched online through Yahoo Live, TheAMAs.com and ABC.com starting at 5 p.m. ET, according to International Business Times.

One of the most talked about parts of the night will be the performances, and there will be plenty of Latino celebrities who will get the audience moving. Jennifer Lopez will be joined by Iggy Azalea to perform "Booty." Selena Gomez and Fergie will also perform.

The red carpet will also generate a lot of discussion.

The latter part of this year has been big for Taylor Swift. In 2013, Swift showed up in a short sparkling dress by Julien Macdonald. The singer is performing and will receive the "Dick Clark Award for Excellence," meaning she has plenty of reason to impress on the red carpet.

Jennifer Lopez usually makes a statement on the red carpet, and we don't expect this award show to be any different. Given Lopez's red carpet history, it is likely that she will wear something with many cutouts or a high slit.

Selena Gomez will be another celebrity who brings drama to her look. But she might take a backseat to Katy Perry and Beyonce. Perry is known for her quirky pieces, and last year she surprised with a beautiful Oscar de la Renta gown. She did add a bit of her personality through her purse, which looked like a book.

Beyonce knows how to keep people guessing. For example, at the 2013 Grammys, she wore a pantsuit and stood out against many of the other women, who wore dresses.

Here are Latin Post's picks for the winners of the biggest awards.
