Former Disney Channel star and singer-turned media mastermind, Miley Cyrus, has the public wrapped around her little finger with her unexpected evolution, shocking transformation and the MTV VMA performance heard round the world -- and that's exactly how she wants it.

On Oct. 2, MTV featured a documentary, "Miley: The Movement," that gave the 20-year-old, former "Hannah Montana" star a platform to tell her story and how she strategically planned to break out from the shackles of her Disney image that were holding her hostage.

"I am not just some mess, this is all thought out in my mind," she said.

She put her mark on pop culture with her MTV Video Music Awards 2013 performance by setting the stage with a teddy bear backdrop accompanied by raunchy mannerisms, a ferocious tongue, a nude, latex outfit, all the while twerking and grinding on R&B singer Robin Thicke and that infamous foam finger.

So, could this disturbing, sexual-yet-childlike atmosphere all a plan to kick start something bigger? It sure was.

"If I wanted to put on a sex show, I would have, but I wanted it to be funny, why else do you think I was dressed as a bear?" Cyrus said.  Before she and Thicke hit the stage, she said, "You know we're about to make history right now?"

In the MTV documentary, the singer says she's way past the MTV VMA performance and is onto the next thing.

"Whether in the studio, at a performance, or on the set of her latest music video, Miley exudes the confidence of a creative young woman in a period of radical self-discovery who still inspires legions of admirers while confronting her critics," according to MTV. "Ultimately, the film ("Miley: The Movement") is an intimate portrait that captures Miley's exuberant and spirited life, her evolving identity, and her exciting transformation into a music icon."

Or as Cyrus gracefully says, "I can finally be the bad b...." I am."

The public continues to weigh in on Cyrus' transformation and evolution, but not everyone is buying her story, however, especially singer Sinead O'Connor.

Cyrus, who made reference to O'Connor in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, has received some powerful feedback from the veteran singer.
