A leak of new details about the next upcoming HTC smartphone, nicknamed the "Hima," has surfaced online.

Reports for some of the specs of the successor of the HTC One, also called M8, have been brought forward from a leaker who has shared accurate information about unreleased HTC phones in the past. This individual has unconfirmed new details about the new Android handset due out from the Taiwanese maker in the next upcoming months.

According to the source, whose screen name is @upleaks, HTC is currently working on Hima, which will be a 5-inch handheld device launching in March 2015 and may be available to all major carriers in the U.S.

The phone is reportedly already in the testing phase at carrier labs.

Several features of the Hima include a Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC containing a 2.0GHz quad-core processor and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 20.7-megapixel camera, 13-megapixel or UltraPixel front-facing camera, VoLTE/CA/LTE Cat. 6 support, 2,840 mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 on top, according to tech news site BGR.

These upgrades from previous smartphones will allow the Hima to toggle between powerful but battery-draining cores while actively being used and then reverting back to lower cores when the additional power isn't needed. This system could help to prolong the life of the battery, TechRadar claimed.

It's unclear at this point whether the Hima is the next step in the One's M8 line, or M9. @upleaks has said that another version of the Hima, the Hima Ace, is also already in the works, as a phone option reported to be a more affordable edition of the Hima.

The MWC in 2015 takes place in Barcelona, Spain, in March next year and is predicted to be the stage on which HTC unveils some new Desire phones.
