Lupillo Rivera was supposed to perform in the Bronx over the weekend, but the singer didn't even make it to New York.

Rivera was hospitalized at the Aragon Medical Center in Temecula, California before his concert in the Bronx, according to TV Notas. The 42-year-old singer was supposed to perform on Nov. 6 at the Patron Club, but he had a medical emergency that kept him from going,

The singer shared a statement explaining what happened via his Instagram account.

"My people of Bronx, NY, because of acts of God, I see myself needing to postpone today's performance from the Patron Club," he said. "I ask for your understanding. Lupe."

The nightclub also asked fans to understand that Rivera wouldn't be able to make it. On its Instagram account, it shared an image of a doctor's note. "Please excuse above pt. from work from 12/6/14 - 12/16/14 due to illness," the note read.
