"Star Wars Episode VII" plot spoilers are among the news items most in demand from film fans everywhere.

There have been plenty of rumors to go around for months, including the fates of Luke and the main characters in the new film.

Over the last few weeks, Han Solo's fate has also become a big topic of discussion, but shockingly no one has really mentioned where Princess Leia fits into this new galaxy far, far away.

A recent rumor has bucked this trend and has now given fans some ideas about what may happen to the series' original heroine. Apparently and unsurprisingly, she is the new rebel alliance leader and Han takes the new heroes to meet her upon finding Luke's lightsaber in their hands. She is with C-3PO and R2-D2 and sets out to help the new gang find Luke.

But here is the kicker: the new rumor reveals that Leia is not particularly happy to see Han (almost like Indiana Jones and Marion in the fourth film supposedly), almost suggesting that numerous fans' dreams of seeing the two united in marital bliss over the last 30 years might just be dashed.

It is actually rather interesting if Abrams takes this route with the story. But it would obviously open up a lot of questions. What happened to the two of them over the last 30 years? Did Leia simply watch over the rebuilding process of the rebel alliance for 30 years while Han went off to continue being a smuggler? Did they just abandon their romantic notions despite having been given every possible opportunity to indulge in it at the end of "Return of the Jedi?" After all, she risked her life at the start of that very film to save him because she loved him.

Of course, this could go in a very different direction all together. The source never actually claims that they are unmarried. But what if they did elope and are going through some marital issues? These characters had a lot of differences to spare in the original trilogy and it is possible that their marriage never quite worked the way they hoped.

This direction seems more feasible for a number of reasons. Many have wondered if Daisey Ridley's "Kira" is the daughter of the couple, but a more prominent rumor has Adam Driver's character as their only off-spring. If this is in fact true and his mother and father are having some issues, it could explain his own emotional insecurities and his eventual turn to the dark side. It adds a new and complex dynamic that has yet to be explored in the franchise. He is expected to be the new Sith from the trailer, meaning that he would have to be strong with the force in some way. His mother is obviously strong with the force and would pass it on to him.

A Han-Leia broken marriage would seem to follow along with the trends going on with movie. Many expected Luke to be the leader of the new Jedi Order when the opening crawl for "Episode VII" came down but it actually looks like there is no Jedi Order and there is no Luke. So it would make sense that the expectations of many would also be dashed with regards to Han and Leia's marriage situation as well.

Do you think that Han and Leia should be married at the start of "Episode VII?"
