Phil Jackson looks determined to rebuild the New York Knicks roster quickly as reports revealed that the team is shopping veteran point guard Jose Calderon and oft-injured big man Andrea Bargnani.

Marc Stein and Ian Begley of ESPN New York reported the Knicks are "actively trying to trade" both Calderon and Bargnani in the hope of creating more cap space to acquire key players in the offseason.

Among the two players they are currently shopping, Calderon is the more attractive trade assets, and several teams are reportedly interested in acquiring the veteran playmaker. However, teams might not be willing to give up key assets in a trade for Calderon because the 33-year-old still has two years left in his contract worth $15.1 million.

Bargnani is also an attractive trade chip to teams who are looking to acquire expiring deals. The former first overall pick has an $11.5 million expiring deal. Sources said the Knicks might just waive him next month if they fail to find a taker for the 29-year-old center, who has only played in two games this season because of hamstring and calf injuries.

Previous reports also indicated that the Knicks might consider trading Amar'e Stoudemire before the deadline, but sources told ESPN the Knicks are not planning to part ways with the former All-Star at this point. Stoudemire, who averaged 13.1 points to go along with 7.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in his first 28 games this season, is playing in the final year of his lucrative contract worth $23.4 million.

Jackson, who is in his first full season as Knicks team president, recently took the blame for the Knicks poor start this season. The Knicks still hold the worst record in the league at 5-35, and Jackson said their fans should not be surprised if they continue to make trades before the trading deadline on Feb. 19.

Jackson has made it no secret that he wants to rebuild the Knicks starting next summer through the draft and free agency.

Earlier this month, the Knicks sent J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert to the Cleveland Cavaliers for non-guaranteed contracts in the deal that also involved the Oklahoma City Thunder, who acquired former Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters in the process. The Knicks also waived former starting center Samuel Dalembert.
