Reality TV star butt heads with daughter Mady in the premiere episode of "Kate Plus 8."

On Tuesday's premiere of "Kate Plus 8," the family vacationed in Massachusetts and Maine. They visitedPlimoth Plantation to enjoy an authentic "Pilgrim lifestyle experience" complete with costumes, carrying heavy pots and cooking.

Later, the brood ate at a seafood restaurant, and 14-year-old daughter Mady ordered lobster for the sheer joy of unnerving her squeamish mother. She ended up obsessing over its "nose tentacles" and didn't finish eating it.

Mady spent a lot of time in this episode butting heads with her mother. At one point Gosselin took away the teen's cell phone, which Mady countered by attempting to butter up her mother.

"If you had a happy attitude, Mady, then the answer would be yes, but I'm afraid to ask you to do anything ..." Kate told her daughter, who protested feebly as she watched her mother preparing a meal in the kitchen.

"Why?! What did I do today?" Mady wondered.

The "Celebrity Apprentice" star could not remember exactly what Mady did to get her phone privileges revoked; she is the mother of eight kids, after all, and there is a lot of which to keep track.

The new season of "Kate Plus 8" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on TLC.

Kate Gosselin recently sat down with "Extra's" A.J. Calloway to address rumors she's dating millionaire Jeff Prescott.

"Oh whatever, I'm not dating him," she said. "He's a business guy. We're working on a business deal, and he's a great guy, a nice guy, but they always make up all these stories ... Okay, I get it. Everybody wants to me to be dating somebody by now. I get the hint."

The mother of eight insisted she has no time to date.

"I don't ever leave my house. This is the like first time I left my house in a long time, unless you count Target and the grocery store," she explained.

Gosselin went on to say that family is her priority, but in a recent Access Hollywood interview she admitted that she misses being in a relationship since she split from husband Jon in 2009.

"I'm definitely lonely and that [part of my life] is definitely missing," she said. "As time goes on it's more so, and the kids are mentioning it more and more. To have a man, a male presence in the house, I just feel it would be so much more balanced -- [for] the boys especially."

A busy work schedule doesn't help matters. Gosselin appeared on Season 7 of "The Celebrity Apprentice" last week, and this week she and her eight children appear in a new series of "Kate Plus 8" specials airing on TLC.
