Stanislas Wawrinka will begin his title defense, while top seed Novak Djokovic will also see action in Day 2 of the 2015 Australian Open on Monday night in Melbourne, Australia.

Wawrinka, who defeated Rafael Nadal in the final of the 2014 Australian Open, will kick off his campaign against unseeded Marsel Ilhan of Turkey in the opening round at Rod Laver Arena.

The fourth-seeded Swiss admitted that there is pressure on his side being the defending champion of the tournament. When asked about his chances of successfully defending his title, Wawrinka said that he is not thinking about it as he is focused on starting his campaign on a bright note.

"I not focused on that. I'm not thinking myself. I'm not putting my goal to win a Grand Slam," Wawrinka said in a news conference. "I know I can do it, that's not the question. But it's a long way for that. For me most important is to be ready for the first match. I know how is it. I've been playing since so many years to know the deal."

Should he go deep into the tournament again this year, Wawrinka will likely face 2014 U.S. Open finalist Kei Nishikori in the quarterfinal and Djokovic in the semifinal.

Djokovic, who is looking to win his fifth Australian Open title, will also see action for the first time on Monday night against Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia.

The top-ranked Serb admitted that he is not too familiar with Bedene, but he knows there should be no room for complacency because his Slovenian opponent could pull off an upset. Heading into the tournament, Djokovic has been struggling with illness, but he said that he is feeling better over the past few days.

"I had tough couple days. But it's all behind me now. I'm ready for the Open," said Djokovic, who won the tournament in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013. He lost to Wawrinka in the quarterfinal of last year's Australian Open.

The Wawrinka-Ilhan and Djokovic-Bedene matches are the second and third matches of the first session at Rod Laver Arena, which is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EST.

Women's top seed Serena Williams will also make her tournament debut on Monday night. She will go up against Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium at 7 p.m. EST at Margaret Court Arena.
