In a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres on "The Ellen Show," Jennifer Aniston addressed being snubbed at the Oscars for her critically acclaimed role as Claire Bennett in the film, "Cake," the Hollywood Reporter reports.

While her "Cake" performance was not nominated for an Oscar, Aniston still takes pride in giving herself the "No. 1 Snubbed" title and is most happy about the positive feedback she has garnered from the film, she explained.

"I'm the No. 1 snubbed! That's the silver lining," Aniston told DeGeneres. "It hasn't even come out. That's the crazy thing -- we're so shocked and amazed that we have had this much love for a movie that hasn't even been released yet."

In addition to the critics, Aniston revealed she has received lots of love from victims of chronic pain who can relate to Aniston's character in the film.

"What's been so incredible is the amount of people that have come out to me who are suffering with chronic pain and in this same situation," Aniston said. "It's unbelievable how much positivity it's bringing to those who are kind of silently suffering. It's a beautiful, hopeful movie."

In the film, Aniston portrays Claire Simmons, a woman who consumes pain medication and illegal drugs in attempt to manage her hallucinations about a widower's wife.

In an Epix roundtable discussion last month, Aniston opened up about the in-depth character work she endured while preparing for the role.

"There would be times when I would have to do a take over because I knew I moved too easily," Aniston said. "But what's odd is that after about two weeks of walking and taking on a physical state, that starts to become sort of your natural state of being and moving."

"Cake" hits theaters nationwide on Jan. 23.
