Apple updated its iOS operating system Wednesday to iOS 8.1.3. This minor fix will address some issues that some users were experiencing.

According to Apple, the update will also require less storage space than previous updates. This means if a user is running out of space on their iPhone, the update should still fit.

Some users complained about their Apple ID password when trying to use the Messages or Facetime app. They simply were not able to type in their Apple ID when prompted. This issue is said to be fixed in 8.1.3.

Spotlight results were not showing apps when a user would conduct a Spotlight search. For instance, if a user would search Facebook in the Spotlight search, the app would not be one of the results. This issue is said to be fixed with the update to 8.1.3.

On iPads, certain gestures for multitasking were not working. This issue should be resolved on iPads when they are updated to 8.1.3.

Developers did not get a chance to test out 8.1.3 prior to its release. Instead, Apple made it available to employees about a week ago so that they could test it out.

MacRumors noticed that a few users were logging into their website in December using the 8.1.3 operating system.

Latin Post updated to iOS 8.1.3 in less than 10 minutes. The download was very quick but the install process took over five minutes.

The latest update to iOS 8.1.3 could spell trouble for jailbreakers, according to MacRumors. The latest jailbreak for iPhones was the iOS 8 TaiG jailbreak. That jailbreak worked up until 8.1.2.

It looks like with 8.1.3 the TaiG jailbreak might not work, according to MacRumors forums.

The next major update for iOS is to update it to iOS 8.2, according to iPhoneHacks. That could come in the next couple of months as the Apple Watch is said to be coming sometime in March.
