While Banks appeared to find the photo funny, critics flooded her Instagram and slammed her for being racist and being desperate for attention.

"She's so desperate to be relevant that she's doing the most ignorant sh*t & making herself look so stupid," Instagram user mellomarss wrote. Another Instagram user, @alexmitris, wrote, "it is indeed racism & she's an ignorant bag of sh*t."

Following the backlash, Banks took to Twitter to slam critics calling her racist and clarified that her #whiteface photo was actually a promo shot for her upcoming "Ice Princess" music video. Check out Azealia's tweets below.

Banks also mentioned the time that Snoop Dogg sported white face and was praised for his character.

Prior to her whiteface photo, Banks was slammed by Iggy Azalea, who named Banks' poor attitude as the reason for her lack of success.

Banks and Azalea's Twitter feud erupted after Banks accused Azalea of appropriating black culture during a Hot 97 interview.

"OK, so here's the thing with Iggy Azalea. I feel like, in this country, whenever it comes to our things like black issues or black politics or black music or whatever, there's always this like undercurrent of like 'f--k you' ... and that Iggy Azalea s--t is not better than any f-ckin' black girl that's rapping today. ... Iggy Azalea is not excellent," Banks said.

Azalea later clapped back with her own Twitter rant about Banks. Check out her tweets below.
