It was just weeks ago when NBA veteran Lamar Odom was all over the tabloids for a DUI arrest and an apparent drug binge, but the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers are both looking at the possibility of signing him this season, sources told ESPN.

Part of the reason why Odom has been such a high-profile name in the tabloids is also because he is married to Khloe Kardashian. The Kardashians were shooting a television reality show at the time of Odom's alleged drug issues, which brought even more headlines.

Although it seems surprising - and risky - for a team to show interest in a player that had such a rocky offseason, it is actually similar to what we saw last season when Odom returned to the league after going to rehab. However, this time seemed to be a more extreme case as reports were indicating that Odom was noticeably thinner than before, raising questions about whether or not he would be in shape.

According to ESPN, Odom recently started working out again after his personal issues seemed to be behind him. He is reportedly looking to get back on the court by the second half of the 2013-2014 NBA season.

The sources told ESPN that neither Los Angeles squads have inquired about much and that they only asked about his overall well being.

The 34-year-old, New York City-raised Odom has played in parts of 14 NBA season dating back to his rookie campaign in 1999. He tied a career-high last season with 82 games played; last season marked only the second time in Odom's career that he played in as many games.
