Thursday night's Premio Lo Nuestro kicked off with the magenta carpet at 7 p.m, and J Balvin treated his fans to a performance of "Ay Vamos."

And he was not the only one performing during the red carpet, as Fernando Corona also hit the stage. The "Va Por Ti" runner up explained that he was excited to be there, and he hit the stage with an energetic performance.

The show opened at 8 p.m. with Gente de Zona and Pitbull. The two performed together, and then Pitbull took over the stage. Following this performance, Galilea Montijo and Cristian de la Fuente tried to find connection from one artist to another, and they ended up speaking about a big number of the nominees.

The Best Performances

Latino award shows tend to be performance heavy, and Premio Lo Nuestro was no different.

Becky G and Thalia teamed up and sang "Como Tu No Hay Dos." It was a different performance for Becky G. It opened up with Thalia's silhouette, and when she started dancing, she revealed sparkly fringe.

The 17-year-old singer started singing with a group of dancers, but this performance had many talking because toward the end, it appears that Thalia tried to kiss Becky G. The Californian singer seemingly turns her head, and Thalia ended up kissing Becky G's head.

Watch the performance below.

Ricardo Arjona, who was honored for his long career, had an amazing performance. He started off playing on the piano, but when he brought out Gaby Moreno to sing their hit "Fuiste Tu," the audience went wild. They could be heard singing along, and when the audience was shown, people were seen holding up Guatemalan flags.

Laura Pausini also had a top performance. The Italian singer was honored for her 20-year career, and she was introduced by Marc Anthony.

"Another example that music doesn't have borders," she said. "A blessed woman with the voice of an angel."

She sang two songs. For the first, she wore a red dress, but when she joined Anthony, he took off her dress. She was wearing a blue dress beneath, and the two started dancing salsa.

After her performance, she explained that though she is Italian, she feels Latina. She said "half" of her heart belongs to the Latino culture.

"In Italy, salsa is for eating not for dancing," she said.

Juanes, as always, delivered another solid performance.

The Best Dressed

On the magenta carpet, there were a few missteps.

For example, Maite Perroni's hair looked beautiful, but her dress had sheer netting on her bust. It ended up looking awkward. Her dress was nude colored, and it had black accents.

Thalia's dress also went a step too far. The fit and color looked great, and a lot of the dress worked. But the back had a lot of tulle that was a bit overboard.

Aislinn Derbez's purple frock may have clashed with the magenta carpet, but on stage, she really shined.

Shannon de Lima was easily the best dressed of the night. The model wife of Anthony shone in a white gown. Her back was completely exposed in the look.

The Winners

Speaking of Anthony, he was one of the big winners of the night.

When accepting the award for Tropical Salsa Artist of the Year, the proud Puerto Rican explained that though Latinos come from different places, they are united as one.

"Shannon, I dedicate this to you. This is yours. Thank you for your patience....," he said. "But here, they see us all as simply as 'Latinos,' and I just want to say in this moment, here, that we are united, we are one. No matter where you're from, we are one."

Enrique Iglesias was also about unity when he won Pop Album of the Year. The Spanish artist said that without people from other countries, he would not have had the same level of success.

"This wouldn't be possible without Miami, without Mexico, without Descemer Bueno, without Gente de Zona," he said.

Romeo Santos ended up being named the big winner for the night, as he won the Premio Lo Nuestro Artist of the Year.
