Chris Brown may be known for rapping but the musician is also an artist.

Over the weekend, a Miami auction house sold a number of pieces painted by the rapper and artists. The collaboration pieces raised more than $60,000, some of which will go to charity.

According to Page Six, Brown teamed up with artist KAI and painted pieces during Fine Art Auctions Miami’s Urban Art Week. The pair made eight works together, including painting a vintage Porsche. Some of the pieces were then submitted for auction, alongside work by KAWS, Shepard Fairey and Keith Haring.

Two pieces by Brown were sold for $25,000 apiece and a third went for almost $12,000. Half of the $62,000 raised will go to charity, explained Page Six.

The artist Kai posted some of the piece on Instagram showing him with Brown working on pieces. Brown uses the pseudonym Konfuzed.

However, despite his artistic prowess, Brown has talked candidly about fellow rapper Drake. According to HollywoodLife.com, Brown appeared on Hot 97 on Feb. 20 and gave an interview in which he talked badly of the Canadian musician.

“Yo, we not getting no check from talking about dude, we giving him all this [publicity]. At the end of the day, I look at it like this: I can’t keep making these mother****ers famous. I’m responsible for a lot of reviving of careers, and I think when I keep talking about somebody – even right now, I just making him hot right now ‘cause I’m just talking about him,” he told the station.

He later clarified his statement on an Instagram post, explaining, in part: “Meaning I’m tired of talking about beefs and if I f**k wit a person or not.. I’m not getting paid for none of that sh-t and I really don’t need to waste me time wit it. It’s a continuous cycle of bull***t and negativity![sic]
