Ben Crawford uncovered some disturbing secrets about his neighbors in "Secrets and Lies'" Episode 4, "The Sister," last week.

It all began when Natalie Crawford told Detective Cornell that she attended a concert with Dave Lindsey and left Tom Murphy, whom she occasionally babysat, with their neighbor Vanessa Richardson two nights before he died.

The revelation prompted Ben to snoop into the lives of Joe and Vanessa Richardson. He learned Joe had been fired as a doctor for sexual misconduct, and that the couple had a son named Malcolm who died. When photos surfaced of Malcolm's bruised body, Ben confronted Vanessa who claimed Malcolm had a condition called hemophilia that led to his death.

Unsatisfied, Ben decided to snoop more at the Richardsons' dinner party, but was caught by Joe. The dramatic scene ended with Ben airing their dirty laundry and accusing Joe of killing 4-year-old Tom with a flashlight.

Ben shared all of the information about the Richardsons with Fenton, who he discovered was a reporter. Despite Ben's protest, Fenton printed an article about the Richardsons and the couple skipped town.

The spotlight is not off Ben, however. Detective Cornell revealed that Ben drunk-dialed Jess Murphy, the mother of Tom, on the night Tom died. A woman named Sarah Jenkins with a similar phone number received a voicemail from Ben that night in which he says, "I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow ... I'm sorry."

The Spoilers Guide reports that in this week's "The Jacket" episode, while Ben helps his neighbor's autistic son, Matt Daly, he uncovers new evidence that could prove his innocence. Ben suspects the Daly family in Tom's death and confronts them-prompting even more secrets and lies to be revealed on Chelsea Bay Drive.

A new, far more dangerous threat emerges in Ben's life.

Detective Cornell's investigation reaches a dead-end.

"Secrets and Lies" Episode 5, "The Jacket," airs Sunday, March 22 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
