Celebrity Chef Nigella Lawson is not having the best holiday season, as she is currently in court battling a very tough case. Her two assistants are being sued for stealing from her and ex-husband Charles Saatchi. Not only is she dealing with the assistants rebutting allegations by saying that she was using illegal drugs, but she is also accusing Saatchi of threatening to destroy her...saying the drug allegations were all his idea.

"He said to me at the start that if I didn't go back to him and clear his name he would destroy me" Lawson testified.  This threat came after the infamous photos of him chocking her at a restaurant, were published worldwide. The scandal, which she first tried to deny by following the instructions given by her husband, ended in a divorce. Nigella says that she is testifying because of the "bullying and abuse" from Saatchi;  "he started spreading false allegations of drug use, I have been put on trial here and in the world's press". The Grillo sisters, Lawson's two Italian assistants, justify their $1 million credit card spending on luxury clothes, accessories and high-end hotels as "hush hush" money proposed by their bosses to keep quiet about Nigella's drug issues.

Lawson told a jury at Isleworth Crown Court in London that "[She] loved Lisa, [her] children loved Lisa" and that she left the family "feeling betrayed". Elisabetta Grillo (Lisa), had been there for Nigella after the trauma she suffered from the death of her first husband, John Diamon, in 2001. Lawson said she was "her rock" someone who really helped her through a very difficult time.

"It's very difficult when you find out that someone you have loved and trusted could behave in that way", Lawson's voice breaking she continued; "In my heart of hearts I do not believe Lisa to be a bad person...but I believe her to have not a very strong moral compass".

The case has been overshadowed by the breakdown of Lawson's 10-year marriage to Saatchi, defense lawyers even asking her questions about it during the trial. Defense lawyers however are accusing Lawson of using illegal drugs including cocaine, according to an email where Saatchi calls his then wife, "Higella". Saatchi testified in court last week that he had never seen Lawson taking drugs and that the email was "written in anger and that [he] regrets sending it".

Good luck to Nigella Lawson, it isn't easy to be battling so many attacks all at once.
