Gamers are learning more and more about the new game consoles released by Microsoft and Sony.

According to IGN, a new Xbox One mod, dubbed "CronusMax," allows people to enjoy cross-platform gaming between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The mod reportedly allows people to use old Xbox 360 controllers or Dualshock 3 and Dualshock 4 controllers on the Xbox One.

In other news, analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan said to investors that the PlayStation 4 console is selling much better than its Microsoft counterpart. The analyst said that he estimates that the PlayStation 4 sold more than 1.25 million consoles in the United States alone in November while the Xbox One sold 750,000 consoles. Granted, the Xbox One launch was in more countries and was not so specifically focused on the American market. Also, the Xbox One was released a week later than the PlayStation 4 and only had about a week of time in the month to sell 750,000 consoles in the United States.

Although the numbers seem to point towards a disappointing start to the Xbox One, more time is needed to determine whether one console will jump in front as the clear cut winner in the war between consoles. If Sony does indeed jump in front, however, Pachter believes that the reason will be solely related to the fact that the Xbox One costs $100 more than its counterpart.

"Microsoft loses the next generation unless they cut price," Pachter said.

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have gone neck to neck since even before each console's respective release in November. Microsoft and Sony each managed to sell 1 million game consoles in the first 24 hours of sales as shoppers scrambled to get their hands on the most recent gaming platforms ahead of Black Friday.
