Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias had an unusually canine "doubles partner" on the tennis court last night: The "Bailando" singer posted a short Instagram video, in which his dog, Jack, sits up in front of the net, apparently ready to hit some balls with his master.

All kidding aside, Iglesias, of course, has better options when he wants to be challenged in the racquet sport: His partner, Anna Kournikova, was a highly ranked professional tennis player before her career was cut short by serious back and spinal problems.

The Russian beauty may have appreciated her other half's match-type reference, however: While Kournikova never managed to win a WTA singles title, she was once ranked the world's No. 1 doubles player. With her Swiss partner, Martina Hingis, she twice won grand-slam titles at the Australian Open, and the two players were dubbed the "Spice Girls of Tennis."

Jack, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, meanwhile, is an integral part of the Iglesias-Kournikova family, the vocalist had revealed in a YouTube video last year. Iglesias, who since October 2013 lives in a $26 million waterfront mansion in Miami, said he tries to never be away more than 15 days because he does not like to be separated from his four-legged friend.

"He makes me extremely happy whenever I come back home," the singer noted. "He always jumps on top of me, and he goes absolutely bonkers."

Jack's breed, developed in the United States during the 19th century, is a medium- to large-sized dog similar to the Labrador Retriever. Chesapeake Retrievers are known known for their love of water and their ability to hunt; they are described as having a bright and happy disposition.

A bright and happy disposition, meanwhile, could also be attributed to Iglesias himself, who is all about optimism these days.

"Positive mind, positive vibes, positive life," he commented earlier this week on another Instagram photo that showed him during one of his trademark performances.

The 39-year-old's message resonated with his fans, as his remark garnered almost 60,000 likes in a matter of 24 hours; Jack, however, collected more than 70,000 thumbs-up in a mere 17 hours: Game, set and match for the Retriever.
