Recently while on the set of Mortdecai, Johnny Depp answered the classic question, boxers or briefs?

While on the Greenwich, London set of Mortdecai, a newly blonde Depp was caught in a compromising position. The 50-year-old was seen in character with his pants around his ankles. His tropical printed boxers sat underneath a pink, collared shirt, black sweater and gray coat. Meanwhile, a bold pair of red socks proudly stayed almost knee-high, thanks to a nifty pair of sock garters. His characters ends up with his pants to the ground after wrestling with a large cast mate, OK! Magazine reports.

Depp dyed his hair blonde for his role of Charlie Mortdecai. The character comes from Kyril Bonfiglioli's novel trilogy, The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery. In the film, Mortdecai travels around the world in search of a piece of stolen art that could have a mystery code needed to find hidden Nazi treasure. Meanwhile, he has to avoid the attacks of the British secret service, Russians and international terrorists via his wits, charm and skills.

David Koepp will direct the film which is currently shooting in London. Weeks ago, Depp filmed a fast-paced scene where he gets struck on a cobblestone street by a speeding Rolls Royce. The scene was filmed on an East End street; Depp was seen bouncing off the hood of the classic car.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn and Paul Bettany will also star in the movie.

Depp first shocked fans with his blonde hair during the British Film Institute Awards in October. During the event, Depp presented Christopher Lee with a British Film Institute Fellowship, saying it was a "great honor to be there" and that Lee is a "great man, a very great man indeed."

Mortdecai is expected to be released sometime in 2014. If the film goes well, Bonfiglioli will also direct movie adaptations off the trilogy's sequels.
