On Monday night, A&E will air Episode 8 from the third season of “Bates Motel." The episode will tie off some things from last week’s episode, “The Last Supper.”

Next week’s episode, titled “The Pit,” could reveal more of the truth that has been lurking within the last couple of episodes but has yet to come out. The episode's synopsis hints at what to expect.

It states: “Romero (Nestor Carbonell) confronts Norma (Vera Farmiga) about new information recently come to light. Norman (Freddie Highmore) reels from a recent discovery. Caleb (Kenny Johnson) and Dylan (Max Thieriot) take a job that involves some risk. And Emma (Olivia Cooke) makes a decision about her future with Norman.”

Now that Norma has returned from her brief trip into freedom from Norman and all of the hotel’s problems, she has to deal with the issues at home. She started doing that in last week’s episode, culminating in an awkward dinner. However, the synopsis hints at something bigger.

The preview video for next week’s episode shows increasing tension between Norma and Norman. This could be related to what the synopsis explains. However, Norma’s relationship with Romero could also be at risk.

Speaking in a Q&A session with fans on Facebook, Carbonell talked more about his character’s relationship with Norma.

"I really am drawn to Norma, but I'm not sure that she's good for me," Carbonell responded. His relationship with the Bates' also extends past Norma. Although he was not direct in his answer when asked whether Romero would cover Norman’s crimes, Carbonell did hint at something.

"For whatever reason the Sheriff feels very protective of Norman,” he explained.

Next week’s episode will also see more of Dylan and Emma’s relationship. Last week the two tried to spend time alone together, hinting at the possibility of becoming more serious, but were thwarted by Norma’s dinner plans.

The synopsis hints that Emma may finally tell Norman she likes Dylan more. How will Norman react? This revelation could be the “recent discovery” that upsets him.

“Bates Motel” airs on Monday, April 27, at 9 p.m. on A&E.
