Now that it has been established that Red (James Spader) is literally out of the red -- or at least not so bloody anymore -- things on NBC’s “The Blacklist” have gone back to their typical life or death seriousness.

In Episode 21 of the second season, titled "Karakurt," the FBI will find themselves one step behind the movements of a dangerous Russian assassin named Karakurt, who is considered to be an enemy on U.S. soil.

As reported in Spoilers Guide, Liz (Megan Boone) and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), in an effort to avoid a major catastrophe, will meet with Russian Counterintelligence who will offer insight on Karakurt as well as provide info on the identity of Liz's mother.

Meanwhile Cooper (Harry Lennix) finds himself in a compromising position. Lennix, the 50-year-old actor whose past credits include parts in the well received Spike Lee movies "Clockers" and "Get on the Bus," talked to Collider about playing the Director of the FBI Counterterrorism Division on the show, and how different he is from his character.

“I think the character, Harold Cooper, is happy to sit behind the desk and enjoy 5 o’clock cocktails with the head of the NSA, as they discuss the situation of the day. Harry Lennix, the actor playing Harold Cooper, would love to get out in the field, whip out my gun and shoot some bad guys,” says Lennix, who actually came to the role with a good working knowledge of what would be required for the part.

“I am the spokesperson for the youth initiative of the National Organization of Black Law [Enforcement] Executives,” he says, "so I frequently interface with FBI agents, CIA agents, ICE officers, and all kinds of people.”

Episode 20 of Season 2, "Quon Zhang,” will air on April 30, and "Karakurt" will air on May 7.
