In celebration of her birthday, Janet Jackson made a very exciting announcement for fans and followers.

The pop music icon, who just turned 49, took to her Twitter account on early Saturday morning to share a Vimeo video featuring the inside of a recording studio.

Although she does not show her face, Jackson's voice-over is heard in the "#ConversationsInACafe" footage, in which she promises fans:

"I've promised you'd hear it from my lips and now you will. This year: new music, new world tour, a new movement. I've been listening, let's keep the conversation going."

It has been seven years since the "All for You" crooner last released her 10th studio album, "Discipline," back in 2008. Since then, she secretly married Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana in 2012 and has kept a low-key life, only making a few public appearances.

Also, fans have been anxiously awaiting Jackson's comeback album release as well as new world tour for quite a while -- one of them (@MyVelvetRope) posted a mock missing-person flyer on Twitter in April.

"Seriously, Janet, where the hell are you? We NEED you back. We miss you. Your fans miss you. The MUSIC INDUSTRY NEEDS YOU. Come back and show these young whippersnappers how it's done!" the poster read. "We're not asking. We're BEGGING!"

The "Rhythm Nation" hitmaker then responded.

The joke flyer was actually retweeted more then 300 times, while other fans tweeted, wishing for Jackson's return.
