With "WWE Money in the Bank" less than two weeks away, a new participant of the Money in the Bank briefcase ladder match as confirmed during "SmackDown's" main event.

Thursday's episode started with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. He reminds everyone about The Shield breaking up approximately one year ago. Fellow ex-Shield member Dean Ambrose, the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, interrupts Rollins from the titantron. The two continue with their promo, and nothing else happens.

Later in the show, NXT Champion Kevin Owens will have an NXT Championship Open Challenge, similar to John Cena's United States Championship Open Challenge from "Monday Night Raw." The main event is also confirmed with Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus.

A triple-threat tag-team match to determine the No.1 contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship was next. The Prime Time Players defeated The Ascension and The Lucha Dragons. Backstage, WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day deliver a promo against The Prime Time Players. Kane appears and puts Kofi Kingston in a match against Neville for later in the show.

Intercontinental Champion Ryback, in a non-title match, defeated Stardust.

In the ring, Renee Young interviewed Paige about her fued with The Bella Twins for the Divas Championship.

Backstage, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan cut a promo.

The open challenge for the NXT Championship is next. Owens' opponent is Zack Ryder. Owens defeats him and delivers another pop-up powerbomb on Ryder.

Backstage, Young interviews Sheamus ahead of his main-event match.

Neville defeated Kingston.

The Miz was in the ring for "Miz TV" with special guest Lana. Rusev, in crutches, appears and asks for Lana to return to him. She shuns him, which results in Rusev yelling at her. Dolph Ziggler appeared and left with Lana.

The main event between Reigns and Sheamus was next. The match, however, ended by disqualification after Kane interfered. He attacks Reigns and Sheamus, and then announced himself as the next participant in the Money in the Bank briefcase ladder match. J&J Security join Kane in beating Reigns until Ambrose appears for the save.

"WWE SmackDown" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on SyFy.
