Apple has recently showcased its latest iOS 9 during the Worldwide Developers Conference. While numerous rumors about its features have come out prior to its unveiling, more specifications have been revealed that will change the way owners use their devices.

One of the major concerns some users have for the iOS 9 is its ability to run on older devices such as the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2. While it has been confirmed that the new OS will be downloadable on older models, the Cupertino-based firm has devised a way for app developers to limit their products to newer devices on iOS 9.

According to 9to5mac, Apple has now installed an option for app makers to "exclude any non-64 bit architecture" into its list of devices to run to. This way, units that do not employ a 64-bit CPU will be unable to view, download and install certain apps, which have added this option.

This way, those who have older models will not run the risk of installing an application only to find out that it does not work upon utilization. On the other hand, it might be a catalyst in making some gadgets obsolete because no support for its applications are available anymore.

Meanwhile, continuous workflow from all the Apple devices has now been upgraded with a mobile carrier coming into play. In iOS 8, users can reply to messages and take calls on their iPads or Macs as long as both devices are logged in the same Wi-Fi connection.

But all that has been changed, according to The Verge. T-Mobile has recently partnered with the Tim Cook-led firm to enable users to have continuity in their workflow even if one of the devices are using its carrier's cellular network.

For users who are currently subscribed to networks other than T-Mobile, it is highly likely that the service will also be made available in other carrier networks by the time iOS 9 is available for download and installation, the outlet assured.

Meanwhile, HomeKit might have been part of iOS 8 but it seems that the tech giant is beefing up this feature more on its latest OS.

Apple has upgraded this feature with the addition of custom triggers so users will have a more personalized approach in activating and de-activating their appliances and devices connected to HomeKit, noted Tech Crunch.

Aside from that, Apple Watch has now been added to HomeKit so users could switch on/off their appliances with a simple command on Siri through their wrist devices.

iOS 9 will be available for download and installation in fall 2015.
