Mike Diamond of the "Beastie Boys," an iconic band which sold more than 40 million records worldwide, has listed his New York townhouse.

The singer-drummer, more known as "Mike D" to his fans, is offering his Brooklyn abode for $5.7 million, 6sqft.com reported.

The chic and modern home the famous musician shares with his wife, Tamra Davis, was featured on the New York Times in June 2013. In the interview with the Times two years ago, the artist described his home renovation as "kind of vernacular, sensitive, modern."

The couple renovated the home for half a year with a plan in mind. "Our goal was to limit our total reno-architecture budget to under $500,000. Which we pretty much succeeded in. It meant that at times we'd splurge on one light fixture, but not another. And it helped because we ended up having to retain original detail, clean it up and leave it as is," Mike D shared.

The next owners will find their master bedroom on the top level of the townhouse, and it has a large bathroom with a soaking tub.

For families with children, the rooms at the ground level are spacious enough for the kids to enjoy. The artist even described his boys being "completely in their own world" with their rooms.

Variety, in a recent article, shared more interesting details and images of the nearly 3200-square-foot home consisting of three bedrooms, with two more rooms that can serve as extra bedrooms, and three and a half bathrooms.

Photos of the home show an airy and naturally-lit dwelling place and very deserving of Mike D's descriptions of its aesthetic appeal. Outside, a typical charming New York townhouse greets passers-by, but inside, a well-designed home will surprise visitors.

The predominantly white background gives an immaculate vibe and yet it contrasts well with various bright accents and dark-colored furnishing.

Interesting details of the four-story home include hardwood flooring, wide and tall windows, high ceilings and trendy golden accents. Several artistic installations on the walls and ceilings are also featured. Walls are lined with creatively-designed wallpapers or simply accented with amazing paintings. The ceilings have captivating hanging lights and seemingly-floating glass showcase.

Citing real estate records, Variety also noted that the band member and his cooking enthusiast wife bought the New York townhouse four years ago for only $3.1 million. However, the Italian-inspired townhouse, built in the 1850s, was listed for $2,895,000, which means the couple paid more than $100,000 to obtain it.
