Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are reported to be working on doing all they can to "mend fences" in their supposed troubled marriage for the sake of their three young children.

Relations between the Hollywood power couple is now described as less than "ideal," but Hollywood Life reports the two are desperate to put things back together and save their family.

"There is trouble in their relationship, the rumors are out there because they are soaked in truth but the rumors that are not out there is that they want to save the marriage for the kids," a source told the website.

The source added the couple is far from out of the woods but hints the little things are again starting to remind both Affleck and Garner of some of the qualities they once so admired in one another.

"When certain holidays and birthdays come about they think about their relationship with more urgency and with Father's Day right around the corner, Jen sees the man that Ben is, the father that he has become and that outweighs the nonsense," the source added. "They are definitely trying hard to mend fences."

All that comes on the heels of recent reports that things had grown so tense between the two that Affleck had moved out and was now staying at the Bel-Air hotel.

According to Us Weekly, the "Gone Girl " actor stays there whenever he and his wife are having major issues and while there spends plenty of time at the bar downing cocktails.

"There's no need to sugarcoat it," the source added. "Ben is drinking again."

Throughout their nearly decade long marriage, the couple reportedly has faced many problems with Affleck's "workaholic" nature and "many vices" rumored to be chief among their issues.
