“Transporter: Refueled” is the third installment in the “Transporter” movie franchise. The first two films were starred in by Jason Statham but since he was too busy filming “Fast & Furious 7,” the role had to be given to former “Game of Thrones” actor, Ed Skrein, according to The Transporter Refueled website.

Skrein used to be part of the hit HBO fantasy drama, “Game of Thrones,” as Daario Naharis before Michael Huisman took the role from him, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is unclear why Skrein decided to leave the highly watched show, but it was confirmed that “Treme” actor Huisman was going to take his place.

Apart from his relatively short tenure at “Game of Thrones,” Skrein had starred in short dramas as well, as stated in his IMDB page. He had a small role in “The Sweeney,” and a British crime drama “Ill Manors.” That said, Skrein does not have an established mark in the entertainment industry as of yet, but a success from “Transporter: Refueled” could make his name a regular one in the action film genre.

The name of the main protagonist in the “Transporter” franchise is Frank Martin. He is a hired driver who is very skilled from behind the wheel. Surprisingly, though, he was not only highly attuned when it comes to driving, but he was also amazingly good with hand to hand combat and shooting.

It was Adam Cooper and Bill Collage who had co-written the script of “Transporter: Refueled.” These two screen writers were also the ones behind “Tower Heist” and “Exodus: Gods and Kings.”

An official movie poster for the film has been posted on Screen Rant.

It is worth noting, however, that “Transporter: Refueled” is actually going to be a prequel and not a reboot. Skrein will be joined in the film’s cast by Loan Chabanol, who will be playing the role of the femme fatale Anna. Anna kidnaps Frank’s father, who will be played by Ray Stevenson, so that she could force him into being part of her mission to defeat a group of human traffickers.

Thankfully for loyal “Transporter” fans, the film’s first full-length trailer for “Transporter: Refueled” has been released for public viewing. This sneak peek was directed by Camille Delamarre of “Brick Mansions” and what was depicted in the video seemed very decent.

It showed off a lot of action-packed stunts, which seem to predict that this prequel movie project is going to end up being successful both in the domestic and global box office.
