This combination is totally unexpected -- while most of Hollywood stars were spending their evening at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, the new BFFs 50 Cent and Meryl Streep had a blast at a NBA basketball game in New York City on Sunday.

The unlikely pair ended up sitting next to each other when they arrived to the New York Knicks vs. Los Angeles Lakers match at the Madison Square Garden. As they sat on the front row, the A-list duo enjoyed each other's company, as they were seen giggling and even holding hands at one point.

The Devil Wears Prada actress actually sat in between the 38-year-old rapper and her husband of 36 years, Don Gummer. Streep looked casual yet stylish in a simple white shirt, black v-neck sweater, matched with dark denim jeans. She completed her outfit with a pair of thick framed black glasses, coral-colored pashmina scarf, and a pair of black boots. 50 Cent bundled up for the cold weather, as he was comfortably dressed down in a hoodie, leather jacket and a Jets bobble hat. Like the gangster rapper he is, he blinged out his look with a bunch of chunky gold chains around his neck.

The New York rapper took to his Instagram account to post a series of snapshots he took from courtside to after-party with the award-winning actress, alongside Los Angeles basketball player Kobe Bryant. In one of the candid shots, the trio has their arms crosses with serious looks of their faces. 50 Cent captioned the photo, "Things got a little gangsta. Lol TURN UP, Turn Down for what! #smsaudio."
