OnePlus wants to keep the hype regarding its next flagship smartphone buzzing, which was why it had few of its employees host an AMA session on Reddit today. Either accidentally or accidentally-on-purpose, they managed to slip out a few key details -- and a photo -- regarding OnePlus 2.

As posted on GSM Arena, it was stated that the OnePlus 2 will be much smaller than the OnePlus One. In addition to its smaller size, the report also confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus flagship will feature a 3,300 mAh battery, which is almost 10% more than the One’s 3,100 mAh capacity.

A tipster also indicated in a post on OnePlus Forums that OnePlus 2 will be boasting 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It would turn out that the Chinese company is hard at work on pleasing their clients with an even faster memory performance by banking on the LPDDR4. Compared to its predecessor, the LPDDR4 can give users up to two times more memory bandwidth while consuming the very same power source.

Although OnePlus 2 sounds to be a stellar flagship from the Chinese smartphone maker, it was reported that the upcoming unit will not have a heart rate sensor or built-in fingerprint recognition. Instead of having it pre-installed onto the device’s touch screen display, it will have an actual physical sensor that is separate from the unit – just like Samsung’s and Apple’s units.

To date, there has been no update on what kind of exterior the OnePlus 2 will be having. The startup may be very proud of the unit’s build and design, but it is not yet known whether metal or plastic was used for the device’s outer shell. Based on speculations, though, OnePlus 2 users may have the option to swap back covers that are colored or styled differently.

Furthermore, rumor has it that the OnePlus 2 will be launched in three different variants, the A2001, A2003, and A2005, according to a leaked Bluetooth SIG authority filing. One of these three will only be released in China, while the other two will be launched internationally; one which was reportedly particularly designed for North American users, while the other will be exclusively released in Asia and Europe.

The CEO of OnePlus recently confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will be out on the tech market for less than $450. Although this might be cheaper than other high end smartphones in the market today, it is $150 higher than the original price of the OnePlus One, which was only $299.
