What's next for Homeland after teh departure of main character Nicholas Brody? It's expected that Claire Danes, who plays CIA agent Carrie Mathison on the show, will become the one and only star. Series creator Alex Gansa commented that Brody will live vicariously through his unborn child. Homeland season 4 is thought to be airing in the fall of 2014 so it'll be awhile before all these questions are definitively answered.

Up until now its been thought that Brody would never return. He was, after all, publicly hanged in the season 3 series finale! However, series regular Mandy Patinkin, who plays ex-CIA chief Saul Berenson on the show, spoke with E! Online and said that may not be the case.

"I would say so," Patinkin said, when asked if Brody would be revived or seen again in some capacity. "I don't think it will be a regular occurrence, but I think it will be an emotional, occasional occurrence."

But enough about Brody. What will become of the other series co-stars. Enstarz has a juicy quote from Alex Gansa about the other characters and if they will be moving oversees with Mathison. If you're unaware, Mathison was promoted to be Istanbul, Turkey's station chief.

"She gets to choose her own people. So Quinn [Rupert Friend], Fara [Nazanin Boniadi] ... Virgil [David Marciano] and possibly Max [Maury Sterling] may come along with her," Gansa said. "We get to bring some of our familiar faces overseas."

One of those familiar faces may be Berenson himself. After being forced out of the CIA, Berenson becomes a contractor. It's possible that Mathison will need his services, especially regarding intelligence.

There's also been chatter that Mathison may or may not keep the baby. Showtime executive Davids Nevins says fans needn't worry about the fate of the unborn baby per Yahoo TV.

"Carrie, her maternity will obviously play into it," he said, adding "No, no, no, no," when asked if the writers would somehow take the baby out of the storyline.

The baby was conceived out of wedlock and as the result of an ongoing affair between Brody and Carrie. As for Brody's wife Jessica and teenage daughter Dana, their storyline will be all but cut out in season 4. Fans grew particularly tired of Dana's drama during seasons 2 and 3.
