Chris Froome solidified his status as the favorite to win the title this year after ruling Stage 10 of the 2015 Tour De France on Tuesday from Tarbes to La Pierre-Saint-Martin.

Facing the first summit finish of the 2015 Tour De France, Froome and Team Sky saved the best for last as they dominated in the final 6.4 kilometers of the race.

Froome showed how strong he is as he pulled away down the stretch, while his Team Sky teammate Richie Porte also launched a major attack in the final meters of the stage to overtake Movistar rider Nairo Quintana, who is one of the favorites to win the 10th stage on Tuesday.

Froome finished the 167-kilometer race in four hours, 22 minutes and seven seconds. He ended up 59 seconds ahead of Porte and one minute, four seconds ahead of Quintana. Another Team Sky rider, Geraint Thomas, ended up sixth after finishing two minutes, and one second behind Froome.

"I'm lost for words," Froome told reporters after the race. "I could not believe it when I asked the guys to push on a bit and we were hearing on the radio about the big names being dropped. It was textbook from the team and I'm just over the moon to finish it off for them."
