Ellie Goulding is now rumored to write the song for the new "Spectre" film.

The singer-songwriter prompted speculation that she is recording the new theme song to upcoming James Bond film when she posted a number of cryptic social media posts. The first post was via Twitter when she posted the title to a previous James Bond song entitled "Live and Let Die." This led a number of fans to speculate whether or not she would be singing the song to the film.

However, Goulding did not stop there. The next day she shared a photo on Instagram of herself in the recording studio: "Joe caught this moment where we got really excited so much so that I couldn't sing."

Sony has not confirmed who will sing the song, but the pictures came only days after Sam Smith denied the rumors he would be recording the song to the new film. Smith was also the first person to spread the rumor about Goulding when he told Capital FM radio, "I heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it, it's definitely not me.""

If Goulding is the new singer, she will be following in the footsteps of Adele. Her song entitled "Skyfall" went on to become a huge hit and also became the first James Bond song to win the Oscar.

Goulding is not new to movies as she sang the song "Love Me Like You Do," which was featured on the "Fifty Shades of Grey" soundtrack. The singer broke out with her hit single "Lights" and later went on to be nominated for Billboard music awards and numerous U.K. awards.

"Spectre" is expected to open in November and will star Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux and Ben Whishaw. The film is directed by Sam Mendes.
