"Grimm" star David Giuntoli opened up about what fans can expect to see in Season 5, including Nick Burkhardt's quest for revenge and new baby, along with the possibility of a romance between him and Adalind.

As fans may recall, the Season 4 finale ended with a shocking cliffhanger after Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) killed Nick's girlfriend, Juliette, in order to save him. During the gripping scene, Nick was about to kill Juliette to avenge his mother's death. However, he was convicted by his love for Juliette and could not find the strength to kill her. That's when Trubel stepped in and fired two arrows into Juliette. After she was shot, Nick cradled his former lover in his arms and watched her die. It was also revealed that Adalind was pregnant with Nick's child.

While speaking at Comic-Con in San Diego earlier this month, Giuntoli talked about Nick's mindset and the tone of the show in Season 5.

"I'd say they're localizing it more to what it was," he told ShowBiz Junkies. "It seems to be Portland, it seems to be Wesen. It seems to be Nick plotting revenge. I would definitely say I don't really care about being a cop anymore. I'm just like I'm doing my own Grimm thing. I would say the dynamics have certainly changed. Now Adalind's having my baby," he continued.

"So that's changing the dynamics quite a bit. But I want to figure out who did all of these things to me. They beheaded my mom, they killed my woman, and I want to get whoever did that."

Giuntoli also hinted that Nick will be in a dark place for a large part of the new season after suffering from several traumatic losses in Season 4.

"It's always been kind of dark. It started with terrible things for him, but it's been fun watching this guy in real time age every year and learn. I would say it's really fun getting another crack at something all the time," said the star.

The only light in Nick's life will come from the birth of his son.

"I lose everybody so this is the one thing that keeps me around," said Giuntoli.

Much to the delight of fans, the 35-year-old actor teased that Nick and Monroe, played by Silas Weir Mitchell, will work together more in the new season.

"I think it'll re-up the Nick and Monroe relationship. I think they realized that the fans really enjoy that so they want to bring it back. I've seen evidence of that."

However, Giuntoli hinted that Trubel will run into trouble earlier on in the fifth season.

"Trubel is who I'm concerned about right now. Something bad happens to her right away," revealed Giuntoli.

When asked if a romantic relationship will develop between Nick and Adalind, who is played by Claire Coffee, Giuntoli answered, saying, "I'm getting feelers that that might in some way happen. Now, I would play probably very against that. I feel like she's the mom of my son, not my lady, you know? So there are some scenes where they're like, 'How are we going to do this?' kind of scenes."

Season 5 of "Grimm" will premiere on NBC on Oct. 30.
